Fox in Socks"This Fox is a tricky fox。 He'll try to get your tongue in trouble。" Dr。 Seuss gives fair warning to anyone brave enough to read along with the Fox in Socks, who likes to play tongue-twisting games with his friend Mr。 Knox。 "Here's an easy game to play。 Here's an easy thing to say。。。。 New socks。 Two socks。 Whose socks? Sue's socks。" But Mr。 Fox Socks isn't about to let Knox off so easy。 Soon Goo-Goose is choosing to chew chewy gluey blue goo, while tweetle beetles battle with paddles in a puddle (in case you were wondering, that's called a "tweetle beetle puddle paddle battle")。 Mr。 Knox gets exasperated: "I can't blab such blibber blubber! My tongue isn't made of rubber。" But he catches on to the game before it's all through。 One of Seuss's best, this must-read-aloud classic is guaranteed to get many giggles out of readers young and old。 (Ages 4 to 8) --Paul Hughes

Fun book with tongue twisters that get harder as the book progresses。 A good classic Dr。 Seuss book。 A fox that wants Mr。 Knox to try saying different things。 Tried having my 4 year old repeat some of them and some of them were a bit hard but still fun。 I feel like this is a better book for older kids who can repeat better or learning to read on their own。 Perhaps misreads wouldn't be as embarrassing and can be laughed at with the excuse that their tongue was twisted? I'm not sure that Dr。 Seuss books get much more ridiculously great than this one。 There is so much to learn about reading and words for an early reader and so much fun to be had。 We broke the book up into 4 different sessions and I love that my son giggled through the entire Tweetle Beetle Battle during our final read and I thought tackled those words amazingly for a beginner。 I'm not sure that Dr。 Seuss books get much more ridiculously great than this one。 There is so much to learn about reading and words for an early reader and so much fun to be had。 We broke the book up into 4 different sessions and I love that my son giggled through the entire Tweetle Beetle Battle during our final read and I thought tackled those words amazingly for a beginner。 。。。more

I read this book as much to myself as to my children。 Like defeating the bop it, it is a satisfying (albeit tiny) victory。 It becomes quite musical and even meditative, except for the puddle battles, which get a little frantic。 One of my children seemed to resent the fox, who was seen as a ‘show off。。’ but still was not happy about the turn around, when a triumphant Knox ‘really even come close to winning。。’ I think it was the villainous grimace he wore when he declared the of end of the game。 I I read this book as much to myself as to my children。 Like defeating the bop it, it is a satisfying (albeit tiny) victory。 It becomes quite musical and even meditative, except for the puddle battles, which get a little frantic。 One of my children seemed to resent the fox, who was seen as a ‘show off。。’ but still was not happy about the turn around, when a triumphant Knox ‘really even come close to winning。。’ I think it was the villainous grimace he wore when he declared the of end of the game。 I agree, Knox was far too self congratulatory for one who spent most of the book apparently dumbfounded。 。。。more

This review has been hidden because it contains spoilers。 To view it, click here。 This book is about a fox who speaks in rhymed tongue twisters in every sentence。 He is paired with Knox who has trouble keeping up with the tongue twisters and increasingly gets frustrated。 The main characters are the fox, Knox, and a variety of separate species that the fox makes rhymes about。 The illustrations are typical of Dr。 Suess's books。 There is not a real storyline except that Knox increasingly gets more frustrated at the fox and his constant crazy tongue-tied sentences。 I really like This book is about a fox who speaks in rhymed tongue twisters in every sentence。 He is paired with Knox who has trouble keeping up with the tongue twisters and increasingly gets frustrated。 The main characters are the fox, Knox, and a variety of separate species that the fox makes rhymes about。 The illustrations are typical of Dr。 Suess's books。 There is not a real storyline except that Knox increasingly gets more frustrated at the fox and his constant crazy tongue-tied sentences。 I really like this books for a fun read-aloud in class and a brain break for the kids。 These books could also be used to teach alliterations and tongue twisters。 。。。more

After hearing my husband read this story aloud, I got nervous to do it myself。 I must say once I embraced the tongue twisters and silly rhymes it became one of my favorite nighttime classics! I even recite some of the verses in my day to day activities。 This book is so much fun and I highly recommend it for you and your little ones alike!

I like this book because it shows children how many words can rhyme with each other。 I also like this book because it’s funny and it doesn’t really make much sense。 I read it to the little boy I babysit and he thought it was the funniest thing ever。 He loved the rhymes and enjoyed looking at the illustrations, too。 I think this would be a good book for smaller children to read because it shows them how words rhyme。

Genre: Traditional Lit Age: K-2This is a great book for everyone to read because it is a classic。 I think this is a good book to have in your classroom because it teaches rhyming to students。 This book, along with many other Dr。Seuss books, can be used as great tools when teaching LA concepts to students。 It introduces these concepts in a fun way, while also showing students that these concepts not only appear in the classroom but outside the classroom as well。 I highly recommend this book!

This is one of my favorite Dr。 Seuss books to read。 I like the tongue twister fun, and the kids have all really enjoyed it over the years, too。 I read it to L (6) and F (2。5) tonight and F gave out a little giggle at the end of each tongue twister。 We have two versions of this, one is the original and the other is a board book that is definitely an abridged version that is still fun but makes less sense (in as much as this book makes any sense to begin with, of course)。

Part of my 25 book challenge this year is to read one of my favorite books from my childhood。 I adored this book and still do。 Today, my oldest daughter and I had a tiled competition to see who could read it out loud faster without messing up。。。I’ve still got it!

Atticus loves this book! He got。 For Christmas from his grandparents and has asked all of us to read it at least a half dozen times。 I have to admit, I enjoy the challenge it poses。 The teacher in me keeps making notes of all the ways I can use it in the classroom。

I love Dr Seuss books。 This tongue twister rhyming book is fun to read out loud and the faster you read the funnier it is。 Some people might find it annoying but it’s a great workout for the brain。
